Phoenicia. Tyre, after 126 BC. AR Shekel-Tetradrachm (14.4 g), struck 8/9 AD. Choice for these late shekels. Laureate, skin-clad bust of Melkaart right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow, palm branch at shoulder, club and date in fields (year 134). BMC --; RPC 4653A. Usual small flan. A little striking flatness on eagle, but with lovely proof-like luster, especially on reverse. Pleasant portrait style. Issued in Jerusalem? Choice Extremely Fine.
